Malt is a basic ingredient in root beer and usually contains gluten. The gluten protein, to which many people have an allergic or intolerance reaction, has to be removed from the product in some way. Many breweries rely on enzymes for this, or refrain from using gluten-containing cereals altogether. The barley is often replaced by less flavorful alternatives such as rice, as these have a lower gluten content. Not so with Stork im Glück! The small Franconian brand has developed a technique that allows brewers to brew conventional beer naturally. Through a more intensive cooking process, long, cool storage and the use of historical, low-gluten barley varieties, Oskar Döllinger has succeeded in brewing gluten-free beer according to the Bavarian Purity Law, which tastes just like normal beer. Simply delicious. The organic malt drink flows into the glass in shimmering copper mahogany and is adorned with a small crown of dense, slightly tinted foam. In addition to the seductive look, the malt beer inspires with a wonderfully refreshing taste.
