Maisel & Friends WHEEEPA!

The inventiveness and creativity of the home brewing scene are fascinating and inspiring. That's why we launched the hobby brewing competition together with BrauBeviale a few years ago. It took place for the seventh time in 2024. A total of 148 beers were entered under the competition theme “Wheat IPA”.

Pascal Wolke was able to win with his brewing creation from his Cloudworks home brewery. At the end of September, Pascal visited us in Bayreuth to recreate his winning recipe in our brewing workshop together with our master brewers. It is called “WHEEEPA!”, a word creation from wheatbeer and India pale ale. Here, Bavarian wheat beer meets American India Pale Ale and combines the best of both beer styles to create a tropical, fruity aroma firework.

Our WHEEEPA seems golden and opal! in the glass and exudes a scent that merges the two worlds of hops and yeast. Ripe banana, pineapple, melon, mango, peach and citrus are particularly effective. From the first sip it is clear where the beer gets its name from. WHEEEPA! provides a lot of fuel, because in the mouth all the previously perceived notes combine to create a tropical-fruity aroma firework. The beer is creamy, soft and wonderfully full-bodied. Perfect finish guaranteed: dry and with a pleasant bitterness – as befits an IPA. Absolute WOW effect! WHEEEPA! is a wheat IPA from which you only want one thing: MORE!
